ACT Gala

ACT gala title

DANVILLE, KY – November 1, 2019 – Boyle County High School held its annual ACT Gala on Monday, October 28, at Centre College’s Old Carnegie. The event honors those seniors who score 28 or higher on the ACT, a standardized test used by many colleges as a part of admission criteria. There were 27 students who achieved this accomplishment, which is 13% of seniors in the high school.

At the gala, the students are presented with a keepsake to mark their accomplishment before listening to an address by an academic figure. This year’s speaker was Dr. Ellen Goldey, Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College at Centre College. Following the formal program, students and their parents enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and fellowship with the other attendees.

“We are proud to consistently have a similar percentage of students achieving these scores each year,” explained Mary Jane Hall, Boyle County Schools Gifted & Talented District Coordinator. “These students are the representation of the excellence we strive for each day.”

The students invited to the ACT Gala were Faris Allahham, Veronika Bailey, Madison Baker, Samuel Bischoff, Keely Bowling, Colin Carver, Madison Cornelius, Asha Dudgeon, Valerie Fieberg, Chase Frisby, Eli Goggin, Christine Haddad, Skylar Hensley, Sydney Hensley, Haleigh Ingram, Megan Johnston, Monika Jusufovic, Megan Kidd, Katie Lamb, Elijah Lucas, Sabree Norris, Alexander Patton, Matthew Ritter, McKenzie Stearman, Karson Thompson, and Morgan Wilson.
