Congratulations Ryan New- Final 3 in High School Teacher of the Year Ryan New Pictured with HS principal Mark Wade and Superintendent Mike LaFavers

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) – Nine outstanding teachers from across the state – three elementary, three middle and three high school teachers – were named semifinalists for the 2018 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award, the Kentucky Department of Education and ValvolineTM . Ryan New, Boyle County High School Social Studies teacher was named as one of the three semifinalists for the high school category.

Teacher semifinalists were chosen based on their scores from the first round of judging, which was conducted by a blue-ribbon panel of veteran educators. Applications included information on nominees’ teaching philosophies, teaching experiences, involvement in their respective communities and letters of recommendation. Classroom visits and personal interviews with each of the nine semifinalists resulted in the selection of the 2018 Elementary School, Middle School and High School Teachers of the Year.

Congratulations Ryan!

Black and Gold 2017 Schedule Pickups Black and Gold 2017

If you registered for Black and Gold we have schedule pick updates planned! There will be a parent meeting on June 13 at 6:30 at the High School. This is the first day schedules will be available for pickup. For our new parents, there will be a short meeting to go over the logistics of the week and answer questions.

It is important that you pick up schedules and paperwork PRIOR to the week of B&G. There are sheets that must be signed by parents and returned to us. If you are not able to make it the night of June 13, we have alternate dates available for pickup at Boyle County High School:
June 14 from 12:00-6:00
June 15 from 8:30-3:30
June 16 from 8:30-3:30

During any of these pickup dates, you will be able to go over transportation, discuss any health concerns, prepay for KONA Ice, purchase showcase dinner tickets, and get answers to any questions you might have.

We realize that some might be on vacation during the established pickup times. You can call Deanna Padgett at 236-6634 to schedule a different date for pickup after June 5.
