Only around two-tenths of 1 percent of students who take the ACT earn a top score. In the U.S. high school graduating class of 2018, only 2,760 out of more than 2 million graduates who took the ACT earned a top composite score of 36.
The Boyle County Board of Education approved the 2019-2020 school calendar at its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Pursuant to KRS 158.070, the annual instructional calendar was recommended by the district’s calendar committee.
Last night, Boyle County High School (BCHS) hosted its eighth annual ACT Gala in recognition of the forty seniors who received a composite score of 28 or higher on the ACT.
In August, the Board of Education approved a two-year School Safety Strategic Plan aimed at strengthening safety efforts throughout the district. The $415,000 plan covers four focus areas, including mental health, safety drills and protocols, supervision and security—with seventeen stated goals and specific action plans.
The Boyle County Education Foundation, Inc. has launched a fundraising effort in support of the new Boyle County Schools Theatre for the Performing Arts. The goal for the Take a Seat campaign is to raise $125,000—the cost of purchasing and installing the theatre’s 500 seats. Campaign gifts of $250 will be recognized with an engraved plaque affixed to a seat.
