GRADUATION TICKETS: Once again, we find ourselves with a very large graduating class! This distinction has created a situation where we must limit guests for each graduate in order to adhere to the safety standards designated by the Fire Marshal. The graduation ceremony will be a ticket-only event. ALL guests of ANY age will be required to have a ticket to attend graduation in the gymnasium. Any guest arriving without a ticket will be seated in the cafeteria where we will have a live broadcast of the ceremony. We realize this is not ideal for some families, however, it is a necessary step. Our goal is to ensure that the families of our graduates are able to see their child graduate while maintaining a safe and orderly event.

Please review the following:

  • Seniors have completed a form for the initial ticket distribution. Only the parent/guardian designated by the student will be permitted to pick up tickets. Each senior will receive 8 (or fewer as designated by the senior) tickets.
  • The initial ticket distribution will begin Monday, April 23 at 9:00 AM.
  • Senior families with only one graduating senior may sign up for up to 4 additional tickets via a wait list. Requests must be made IN PERSON and ONLY by the designated parent/guardian. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY PHONE OR EMAIL REQUESTS. Signups for the wait list will begin with the initial ticket distribution on April 23.
  • Wait listed requests will begin to be filled two weeks after the initial ticket distribution, May 7. Please remember, we will make every effort to fill these requests, but extra tickets are not guaranteed.
  • All tickets are numbered, perforated and tracked. Tickets without the stub attached will not be accepted for admittance, and we will not be able to replace any lost tickets.

GRADUATION SPECIAL NEEDS SEATING REQUESTS:

Seating for guests with special needs (i.e. wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen tanks, hearing impaired) may be requested by filling out our Special Needs Seating Requests form available in the front office beginning April 17 and are available below. Due to the limited availability of seats for our special needs guests, only one family member may accompany the special needs guests. The remainder of the family will need to plan for seats in the unreserved areas. All forms must be turned in to the front office by Friday, May 11th. Please note that we do not accept phone or email requests for special seating - all requests must be turned into the front office and be on our official form.

GRADUATION PHOTO PACKAGES: We are happy to continue the tradition started by the late Ronnie Logue II of offering a great opportunity for you to preserve the memories of your graduate during this special time AND support Project Graduation! Each package will include a full-color portrait of your graduate receiving a diploma from our superintendent (taken at practice), a full-color studio-type portrait of your graduate (taken at practice), a full-color portrait of the Class of 2018 (taken at practice), and a photo of the Class of 2018 in the "18" formation. 30% of all sales will go directly to Project Graduation! Portraits will be taken by professional photographer, Kirk Schlea. Order forms are now available in the front office and below.

GRADUATION DVD ORDER: Our graduation service will be recorded in high definition and preserved on a DVD by a professional videographer. The cost is $15, and 30% of every order will be donated directly to Project Graduation! Preserve this special moment AND support Project Graduation! Order forms were given to seniors and are available in the front office and below.

SENIOR TRIP: The annual senior trip will be on Friday, May 11th, to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana.

  • Only seniors who have turned in permission forms & full payment will be permitted to attend.
  • Any and all balances are due by Friday, April 20.
  • Seniors will need to arrive at school on the 11th by 7:30 am. We expect to return by 10 pm. School dress code must be followed while at the school. Afterward, all Holiday World rules for dress and conduct apply.

GRADUATION PRACTICE:

A mandatory, full-dress rehearsal will be held on Thursday, May 31st, at 8:00 am until 12 noon. ALL graduates planning to participate in the commencement ceremony MUST attend the FULL practice. If a graduate does not attend, he/she will be removed from the lineup. Honor regalia for honor students (final gpa of 3.5 or above) will be given out from 7:30 am until 8 am. Honor students, please arrive early!  It is very important that graduates wear full graduation attire, as individual and group portraits will be taken at practice.

GRADUATION DAY:

The 55th annual Commencement Ceremony will take place in the Boyle County High School gymnasium at promptly 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018. Please note the following:

  • Doors will be open at 6:30 pm - all guests of any age must enter through the front doors and must have a full ticket (with stub attached). Any guests without a ticket may sit in the cafeteria where we will have a live video feed.
  • Seniors need to arrive by 6:45 pm and proceed to the lineup area (English hallway)
  • Please plan to arrive and sit together with your entire party - saving seats is not permitted.
  • Only our graduating seniors and the Senior Team Leaders are permitted in the lineup area.
  • All guests should be in their seats no later than 7:20 to allow us to utilize the lobby areas to prepare our graduates for an on-time graduation!
  • All photography must be from your seats. We do not permit any guests on the gym floor during our ceremony.
  • Please limit response to individual graduates to hearty applause and refrain from loud noises or shoutouts. We want to insure that the announcement of every graduate's name is heard and each receives the deserved recognition. Please save your rambunctuous cheering for the tassel ceremony, at which time we hope you will cheer wildly for ALL of our graduates!
  • Be sure to silence cell phones during the ceremony.
  • Out of respect for our graduates, please remain in/at your seats until every graduate has exited, and then make your way to the front lawn for our celebration with fireworks! Please do not linger by the front doors, but continue to the lawn so all guests can exit the building and make their way to the lawn!

PROJECT GRADUATION: Plans for Project Graduation are in full swing! The Donations, Entertainment and Food Committees are working to insure that our graduates will have an exciting, safe & sober night of fun, food and prizes after their commencement ceremony!  All graduate parents are invited to help!  Forms to sign up to chaperone during the event were sent home with seniors on Thursday, April 12, and are posted below. Please return all forms by May 11. Don't miss out on the fun!

Also, a Project Graduation parent meeting will be held in the school cafeteria on Monday, April 30th, at 6:30 pm. All committees and all parents planning to chaperone are encouraged to attend this meeting. This will be our last general meeting - please try to attend if you plan to help!

Permission forms for seniors were given out on April 19 and are available in the front office and below. All permission forms are due NO LATER THAN Friday, May 4th! Attendance rosters will be posted near the front office as the deadline approaches. Seniors are responsible for insuring that their name is on the attendance list after turning in their permission form. ONLY graduating seniors who participate in our ceremony, have turned in the permission form, and whose name appears on the attendance list will be admitted into Project Graduation.
