Boyle County a Leader in Farm to School Boyle County Farm to School

As part of Seed Change, Boyle County School District has been designated one of two Farm to School Demonstration Sites in Kentucky, highlighting their work as leaders in the state. In addition to building an outdoor classroom, increasing our garden size and upgrading our current greenhouse, the district has hosted 2 trainings for 30 school professionals from across the state to help increase these opportunities for all students.

At these trainings, Boyle County School District showcased school garden, greenhouses and the hydroponic lettuce raised for our students and inspired other schools to grow their own farm to school programs. These trainings gave attendees an opportunity to participate in a hands-on, peer learning experience with other teachers, food service personnel, parents and students across the state to share farm to school concepts, best practices, challenges and questions.
